Bosphorus Restaurant Review - Cary, NC

Bosphorus

Located in downtown Cary, NC

We found this restaurant by accident one day during hubby's vacation when we had a flat tire! I always try to think that with something bad something good will come.  While waiting for the new Pirelli tires to be put on our Lincoln, we found a restaurant within walking distance and hoped for the best.  To our surprise, we found our new favorite restaurant and have been a customer three times in three weeks!  We would love to visit even more often, if only we lived closer!

This is a small restaurant with about eight booths inside and several tables outside.  You will feel at home by the incredibly friendly reception.

Part of the dinning area:

Door to the outside tables:

Each meal begins with a free appetizer of homemade pide bread & dip.  Forgive me, I don't know the name of the dip.  It appears to have tomatoes, herbs & olive oil and it is so delicious.  John anxiously awaits while I take the photo:

Closer look at the yummy pide bread:

The food tastes like your Turkish grandmother made her secret recipe for you!  So far we have tried the Gyro Plate for $10 at dinnertime & for $8 at lunchtime:

The Mixed Grill Kabobs at lunchtime for $12.50:

The flavor is incredible and you be will craving it shortly after leaving, your return is imminent. Don't forget to order the delicious Turkish Tea (free refills), wonderful presentation:

We haven't tried any desserts yet since the meals are very filling, but we plan to soon or take home some.  To read their menu, click here.  This restaurant has generous hours unlike many in the RDU area.  They do not close between lunch and dinner, so if you are like us, you can grab your late lunch or early dinner!  So there you have it, my restaurant review for Bosphorus.  I think most customers are keeping this gem a secret, but I decided to share!  When you visit, tell the wonderful waiter that the flat tire couple sent ya!  If you have visited this fabulous restaurant, please comment below with your favorite menu item!

Update - It's January 2014 now and this restaurant remains at the top of our list of favorite restaurants in the RDU area!  We also tried the Meze Platter appetizer and it's so incredibly delicious and highly addictive.  We have ordered it many times.  See the photo below:

They will be doubling the size of their restaurant in the next couple of months and will be able to serve even more customers this spring.
